Adding Dcisive Component to Salesforce Pages

Updated over a month ago

In order to see the Dcisive View component it must be added to the Lightning Record Page for the appropriate Salesforce object. This guide will step you through the configuration of Lightning Record Pages in support of the Dcisive View component.

Step 1 - Navigate to the Setup Salesforce View

A user with appropriate permissions (typically a System Administrator) will select "Setup" from the Setup Menu (select the gear icon on the top right):

Step 2 - Navigate to the Required Salesforce Object

Within the setup view, select the "Object Manager" option:

In the "Quick Find" search box type in the name of the object where you would like to add the Dcisive View component:

Click on the required object to navigate to the object details page:

Step 3 - Configure the Lightning Record Page

Select the "Lightning Record Pages" option in the menu on the left-hand side:

Select the Lightning Record Page that you would like to modify. This will open the Lightning Page Detail screen:

Click the "Edit" button which will open the Lightning App Builder page:

Navigate to the "Custom - Managed" section of the Components menu and drag and drop the Dcisive View component to the appropriate location within the Lightning Record Page:

Click "Save" once complete.

Step 4 - Configure Dcisive Component Parameters

Select the Dcisive component added to the lightning page in step 3. On the right hand panel a component configuration screen will allow configuration for 3 parameters:

  1. Header for the component

  2. Maximum files to show in the preview screen

  3. Filter criteria for the files shown in the Dcisive component (filtered based on the tags associated with the files associated with the current Salesforce record). Criteria can be entered without the tag prefix (if the filter should look through every metadata field for the specified search string) or within a specific tag.
If specifying a tag, follow this format -> tagname:"Search String"

Click "Save" once complete.

Step 5 - Confirm Dcisive View is Available

Navigate to the object where the Dcisive View has been configured and confirm that it's available:

Repeat steps 2 through 4 for every object that requires the Dcisive View.
