The Dcisive platform provides flexible tools for managing files efficiently without permanently removing valuable data. This ensures that the platform presents only relevant files in search and views, reduces noise from inactive or duplicate content, and preserves all data for restoration if required.
Deactivating Files
Dcisive allows users to deactivate files directly from the file’s three-dot dropdown menu. Deactivating a file removes it from search results and normal visibility, helping you focus only on relevant and active content. Importantly, deactivation does not delete the file from the database, ensuring that no data is permanently lost.
If a file is deactivated by mistake, it can be re-activated immediately from the same menu. This re-activation must be performed before refreshing the search results. Once the search is refreshed, the deactivated file will no longer appear in the results, as it is now hidden from search visibility.
Managing Duplicates
Dcisive includes a duplicate management feature designed to handle high-volume, repetitive content, such as email headers or system-generated files, that may be ingested thousands of times.
Files can be flagged as a duplicates, indicating that the file content is not meaningful for ongoing analysis. Once a file is marked as a duplicate, all future instances of that same file are automatically hidden from search results and file views.
This approach is particularly effective for eliminating noise caused by repeated email headers, signatures, or automated messages, allowing users to focus on unique and relevant files while the duplicate data remains safely stored in the system.
