Dcisive Map

Updated over 3 weeks ago

The Dcisive platform offers a powerful feature that allows users to visualize their digital files based on their geographical locations. This feature helps you quickly locate and manage files associated with specific areas, making it easier to handle location-based data.

Viewing Files on the Map

Files are displayed on a map as dots, each representing a geographical location. The number inside the dot indicates the number of files associated with that location. As you zoom in or out on the map, files are grouped together accordingly, allowing you to control the overall zone and file clustering. This zoom functionality helps you manage and view files at various levels of detail, whether you need a broad overview or a closer look at specific areas.

Previewing Files at a Location

When you click on a dot on the map, a preview window will appear, allowing the user to scroll through the latest 10 files at that location. This window provides a snapshot of the most recent files associated with the selected area. Additionally, it includes a summary of the total number of files at that location, broken down by file type. This summary helps you understand the composition of files at each location, such as the number of images, documents or other file types.

Accessing Files from the Preview

If you wish to explore the files further, you can click on any of the preview images within the window. This action will take you back to the Dcisive search view, where all files associated with the selected location are displayed. In the search results view, you will see a visual representation highlighting a map filter is in use. This allows you to interact with and manage your files as needed, providing a seamless transition from geographic visualization to detailed file management.

Controlling the Map View with Search Terms

The files displayed on the map can be further controlled by entering a search term in the search view. This allows you to filter the map view based on specific keywords, metadata, or file types, so you can focus on particular files or data points within the selected geographical area. By integrating search terms with the map view, you gain enhanced control over the visualization and management of your digital files.

Navigating to Your Current Location on the Map

Users can select the "Find My Location" button to quickly navigate the map to their current location. This feature allows you to observe files captured against assets, hazards, incidents, and other relevant points of interest near you. By centering the map on your current location, you can easily view and manage files associated with nearby data points, enhancing your ability to interact with location-specific information and respond to immediate needs efficiently.
